visIvis® is a 24/7 operational applicable software for the automated evaluation of webcam images with regard to meteorological visibility. The method and software were developed by the JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH in the DIGITAL (JR-DIG) research department in Graz/Austria. In a strategic partnership, JR-DIG and MeteoSolutions GmbH jointly market visIvis®, which is particularly suitable for the fields of aviation (e.g. visibility conditions at airports), meteorological measuring networks (e.g. automation of visibility determination) and critical infrastructure (e.g. fog warning systems for highways). In addition to the marketing, MeteoSolutions GmbH is going to offer customizing and support for visIvis®.
